The best weapons in oblivion are Goldbrand and Umbra (which are swords that are given as rewards after completing daedric quest) and Shadowrend (available only in the shivering isles expansion pack). Oblivion-Weapons-Cutlasses lists all cutlasses. The weapons that you will find at any time are dependent upon your character's level. Bound Weapon spells equip you with the specified weapon for a duration of D seconds, after which the weapon vanishes. The Priests of Order have a unique bound dagger spell that can only be added with console commands.
